Here is a list of questions to get you thinking…
Think of it as stretching before exercise. Answer as many as you would
like before our first session.
Question #1: What would you want to accomplish?
• What areas of your life would you want to focus on?
• What accomplishments would make it a success?
• How would it feel to finally reach this goal?
Question #2: This is a three step approach to look at
the challenges in your life:
Step 1: List the 3 or 4 major challenges you are dealing with today.
Step 2: Make a list of 3 or 4 issues you were dealing with 1 year ago
Step 3: To the best of your ability, create the same list for 2, 3 and
5 years ago
Questions: Are there reoccurring
challenges?
Are you addressing those challenges?
Question #3: List 5 to 10 examples of times when you
felt really successful… (Take the REAL challenge and list 100!)
• Examples:
o When a project went really well
o When sales goals were blown away
o When a fundraiser hit its goal
o When a business venture was successful
o When you took the time to develop a relationship
• How did it feel?
Question #4: You are going to make two lists. The first
will contain all the empowering beliefs you have about your career. The
second list will contain all the limiting beliefs you have about your
career. Really give yourself some time to think about this. Write down
everything that comes into your mind. Even if, consciously, you know the
statement is not true, it may be in your mind… so write it down.
Let’s talk about ‘em. They might be helping… they might
be hurting. Think… write… explore
Question #5: This is a two step process to get you thinking
about balance and priorities.
First step: Rank the following
items from 1 to 10 (1 being least important and 10 being most important.)
_____ Spiritual Life
_____ Relationships/Family
_____ Relationships/friends
_____ Health and exercise
_____ Income
_____ Upkeep of home
_____ Continued learning and personal development
_____ Career
_____ Volunteering… church/community involvement
_____ Other: ________________________________
The Second Step:
Now think about how you spent the last 24 hours.
Does your schedule reflect your ranked priorities? (Note: This is tough.
For most of us, it doesn’t. This is one of the reasons why we tend
to feel a lack of balance in our lives.) |
